Working assistance
Working assistance for hard of hearing people means that the hard of hearing colleague orders an interpreter on demand, for example for team meetings or for telephone services being the interpreter’s employer. The hard of hearing person independently and freely decides on the service and the integration agency pays her expenses.
Since 2002 the German sign language has been recognised as a full-fledged language. The aim is to encourage deaf people to take part in working and social live without communication barriers. Therefore the integration agency pays for interpreters especially in certain vocational circumstances like interviews, team meetings, and so on, for every person in Germany who is hard of hearing or deaf and recognised as disabled.
